Italy’s most famos carnival where 6 great masquerade parades begin on the seaside avenues :
Versilia and Lucca Carnivals : Introducing the 2026 Viareggio Carnival
February 1 : 1st Masquerade Parade opening at 3:00 PM and closing with a fireworks display
February 7 : 2nd Night time Masquerade Parade starting 5:00PM
February 12 : Fat Thursday : 2rd Night time masquerade parade at 5:00 PM
February 15 : 4th afternoon Masquerade Parade at 3:00 PM
February 17 (Fat Tuesday) : 5th afternoon Masquerade Parade at 3:00 PM
February 21: 6th Parade Closing Night masquarade with the awarding of the Floats assignement of the winner and Fireworks
For the 2026 Viareggio Carnival each year the neighborhoods of Viareggio host masked paties where people dance sing drink and eat in the neighborhood streets
The following dates are
Viareggio’s Old District from January 31st to february 1st
Marco Polo District from February 5th to 7th
Darsena District : The heart of the Carnival from February 13th to 17th
Croce Verde District from February 20th to 21st
Viareggio’s neighborhoods (the streets parties) continue until midnight on the dates
indicated, with kitchens open to offer fried fish and sandwiches
Versilia and Lucca Carnivals : Camaiore and Lido di Camaiore
Camaiore Center : Children’s Carnival in the historic center on February 12th Fat Thursday
Lido di Camaiore : The “Carnival Nights” at Carpe Diem Viale Europa with the party continuing after the masked parades on the 12th 16th 17th. Febraury
Versilia and Lucca Carnivals :
The main events of the Lucca Carnival begin in January 2026 with Euro Carnival. This event in Lucca’s historic center features 800 musicians and performers from all over Europe : Germany Austria and Switzerland
The music of the colorful Guggen Band will parade through the city opening the Carnival celebrations with subsequent dates in February 2026

January 24th :offcial opening of Eurocarnevale from Caffé delle Mura to the Amphitheater
February 7th : Children’s Carnival in Piazza San Michele
February 8th : On the Walls of Lucca and the Parade of the Viareggio Carnival Masks
February 14th : Piazza San Michele historic Children’s Carnival
