It was the site of great battles during the Middle Ages because the Village was the connection between central Italy and nothern Italy crossing the current Emilia Romagna<\/p>\n

Inside the village we find the churches of san Pietro and san Michele both dating back to the year 1000<\/p>\n

We have the Piazza del castello of the village with the sixtheen-century Palace called the Parliament today the seat\u00a0 of the Municipality. The Medieval well the most suggestive place is the Belvedere on the Serchio Valley<\/p>\n

Destroyed and rebuilt several times today due to the wars, today it presents itself with a wal 750 mt long and between 11 and 17 mt high with five towers : della Brunella, dell orologio, di San Michele, del Fattori e di San Pietro<\/p>\n

It represents a signifcant testimony of the medieval history of Tuscany and is an unmissable destination for history and architecture enthusiasts<\/p>\n

The village of Castiglione di Garfagnana with its well-preserved walls and suggestive atmosphere offers visitors a fascinating journey into the past<\/p>\n
