Casoli is a small village nestled in the greenery surrounded by the mountains of Camaiore, an oasis of peace
Here, every year in the last week of May, traditional Graffiti is painted on the exterior walls of the small village paying homage to Rosario Murabito
He lived here from 1954 to 1972 where he was the first artist to create his first graffiti in the town square
His home has now become a museum managed by the Municipality of Camaiore

Painted Village in Versilia : Casoli – Artistic Event
The Sgraffiato technique is not about painting or using spray can to create drawings and images. The wall is scratched precisely, and the artists chosen to create it are carefully selected.
Painted Village in Versilia : Casoli – The Technique
This art was used as early as the Tuscan renaissance. The techinque prepares the wall similarly to fresco paiting
Several layers of different – colored plaster are superimposed, and metal tools are used to incise the surface drawing and revealing the underlying layer.
