Buccellato: Typical cake from Lucca

This post is also available in: Français (French) Deutsch (German) Italiano (Italian)

Buccellato is the typical dessert of Lucca. It is enjoyed at any time of the year with a good glass of wine especially during the Palio della Balestra or the procession of Santa Croce. It has a bread consistency enriched with raisins and anise and externally has a brown color.

There is a saying that those who come to Lucca and do not taste the Buccellato are as if they had never been there.

Anyway the recipe I do not give it to you, so come to the B&B Sunrise, you take a ride in Lucca where you can buy it in many bakeries, indeed in Piazza San Michele behind the homonymous church you can buy it from Taddeucci.
