I went to the Church of San Michele in Lucca, where in September I went to an exhibition dedicated to this cathedral.
Lucca can be reached in 20 minutes from the B&B Sunrise in Quiesa, by car. We park through the Porta S. Anna and here we enter the historic center of Lucca where we park.
On foot you reach Piazza San Michele in about 5 minutes.
Through this exhibition I have discovered, looking at the drawings well, the characters on the façade are not only saints but also important political figures of our Italian history or who have honored Italy as; Crisforo Colombo, Dante, Cavour, Vittorio Emanuele.
It is worth entering the Cathedral where there is a monumental wooden Crucifix from the 7th century. This crucifix during the feast of the Holy Cross is carried in procession through the streets of the historic center.
